Day 2 Will We Ever Get Away From Portland?

Road trip woes already caught up to us.  The right front wheel developed a grind/squeak because of a rock caught in the brake.

Our plan today was to take the Mount Hood loop.  We started in Portland, taking Route 84 East. The scenery along this super highway was magnificent.  We got as far as “The Bridge of the Gods” and had to turn around for the Mercedes dealership in Portland.

We arrived in Portland Sunday night.  Departed Portland Monday morning.  Linda and I drove to Portland again on our way to St. Helen’s from Tillamoot on the Pacific coast.  We drove through Portland this morning on our way from St. Helen’s to the Mt Hood Loop.  Then back to Portland to fix the car and finally out of Portland to meet the guys at Welches, OR.  Four times in Portland for me and Linda.  I was joking that it was going to take us a week to get out of OR.  Today I started to worry that it was going to take us a week to get out of Portland.

The guys continued riding along the Columbia River today.  We passed them at the beginning of their route and again at the end of their route.  Their bright yellow shirts and socks were very effective for vision/safety.

Oregonians are a chirpy lot.  Its nice.
