High Winds, Torrential Rain, Thunder/lightening and a Tornado Watch

It is not just miserable out there but dangerous for bike riders.  The guys delayed a couple of hours this morning.

Today we rode from Mankato, Minnesota to Rochester, Minnesota.  About 86 miles.
The forecast was for torrential rains.  We decided to ride anyway, but delayed our start to 10 AM.  Fortunately there were no torrential rains during the ride, just rain for about 4 hours.  It wasn’t too bad because we were prepared with appropriate gear.  Not too many pics today, because it’s hard to take out the phone from the pocket with so much rain gear, and also because there isn’t much to photograph.  The scenery is not what it had been in the previous states, but here are a few pics anyway.

Linda and I drove to Northfield, MN where we visited St. Olaf College and The site of the last bank robbery of the James-Younger Gang.  A big "thank you" to Gil, who did that research for us.

The bank in Northfield that the James-Younger unsuccessfully robbed.  Ultimately it led to the end of their criminal career (or life).

When we arrived in Rochester there was a tornado watch: torrential rains and high winds.  It was raining so hard the windshield wipers at top speed couldn't keep up.
